West of England Combined Authority

West of England Combined Authority has just launched a major new £8m initiative to support SMEs with reviewing, planning and reskilling their workforce.  We are now recruiting an education programme coordinator to help provide the frontline support for SMEs to engage with schools to support their objectives.

This will be a key role in establishing and driving forward a coordinated approach to SME engagement within schools in the region. Sitting within the Business and Skills Directorate, the Workforce for the Future Education Coordinator will play a key role across two service areas: ‘Enterprise, Inward Investment and Trade’ and ‘People and Skills’. Key to this role will be forming close and trusted working relationships with the range of internal and external partners.

A key part of the role will be engaging with businesses across the West of England region to support them in identifying opportunities to meet their skills needs through engaging with local schools.  You will drive effective, impactful and sustainable brokerage between employers, providers and schools to achieve a joined up, strategic and coordinated employer engagement system.

You will therefore need to have excellent interpersonal, time management and organisational skills and be a team player as well as being able to work independently.  You will also have an interest in ensuring the highest quality customer support and bring knowledge of the education, business and skills landscape within the West of England.

The advert closes 16 August 2020.

Interviews will be held virtually via Zoom (25th or 27th August 2020)
